From Monday 21 to Wednesday 23 October 2019 Teachers and members of management of schools from Lecce, Freigericht, Ihlow, Kaarina, Moss, Merksem and Aachen were in Gulpen to learn more about how the Technasium operates. They were given lectures about how the subjects Research and Development and Research and Enterprise are taught in the form of problem based learning projects for groups of students.

There was also room to talk to teachers teaching the courses, students taking the courses and people from companies who give the students the assignments. Some excursions were made to universities Sophianum works with and companies that give the assignments.

The final day was dedicated to the continuation (for another 5 years) of our ELpartnership and gathering ideas for possible cooperation in Erasmus+ projects. The final activity was a visit to the local council where they learned about the relationship Sophianum has with the council and how we try to benefit from each other.

The evaluation showed that the participants had a thoroughly enjoyable few days in which much was learned, a great deal of work was done and inspiration was gathered. All participants have seen their understanding of problem-based learning increase and they went back to their school with plenty of ideas to implement some of what they had seen and done in their schools.
